Description "The mysterious Monte-Black Capacitor, recovered 7 miles off the shore of the Halifaux Harbor, when a salvage ship contracted to investigate the sinking of the SS Monte and SS Black discovered it amidst the sunken wreckage. No bodies were found aboard either ship, nor did either show signs of cannon fire or battle damage, despite their respective nations being at war at the time.

Curiously, investigations into the cargo lists of both ships shows that neither the SS Monte nor the SS Black have any record of having the device (now known as the Monte-Black Capacitor) aboard at the time of their sinking.

The strange machinations of the Capacitor have thus far proven impossible to recreate. Through extensive study it has been deduced that the Capacitor functions as a sort of "battery" for the Virge Electrode, a large oar-like device which, when energized to the point of arc discharge, has been found to have a violently adverse effect upon most supernatural apparitions.

Despite obvious assumptions, the Virge Electrode has yet to be used against more corporeal persons, and may in fact be too fragile to successfully do so. (Though the exact durability of material used in it's construction has yet to be identified.)"

I really, really adore the clothing; you manage to convey the differing textures very well, and the design is awesome. Definitely something Iยดd try to copy if I was going the steampunk cosplay route.

I was hoping you'd put this one up soon! My print is currently hanging on my wall and I'm in the process of making it a suitably steampunk-looking frame. Gorgeous pic, love the detail-work (I can see what you mean by the fog blocked a lot of it in the print) and the backstory is mouthwatering. So excited to see more of this.

The careless disregard for safety that seems endemic to the steampunk setting is typified by the person simply perching that insanely dangerous weapon on their shoulder. (That's not to mention walking anywhere near the arching electrical discharge from the Capacitor.)

I am also having a fun time looking through the machinery to guess the reference devices you must have used to put it all together.

Nice one, django-red!
