Description
I've been in Life drawing for animation for only two days and I've already learned a LOT.Animation is about communication and storytelling; You're characters can tell a story just by their body language.
What do you think is happening in this scene?

After examining the given picture a bit...
This is my analysis:
<Analysis:>
Two female characters (either friends or siblings) went to a store that sells clothes (be it a mall or a popular clothes store). The reason that they went there was possibly to give the character on the left of the image a new look/makeover, they quite possibly tried a few styles and looks that may have been good, perhaps decent, or quite possibly not even close, but nothing that ever topped the this last look. Now, given the sudden frame shot here, and the expressions and body language... I would have to assume that the one who was changing was kind of nervous or uncertain about this last look, while the one on the outside was possibly feeling eager to see what her company's new look would be. Quite possibly there was a pause before the unveiling, and the two possibly were exchanging words. The one behind the dressing door exchanging words of doubt, while the one outside probably giving words of encouragement, or possibly even anxiety or impatience. Eventually the one behind the dressing door would give in and come out. Thus we have our shot:
The girl on the outside is completely thrilled about her company's transformation and believes it's absolutely perfect, while the one standing inside the dressing booth(?), perhaps feeling uneasy at the first moment she opened the door, after witnessing her company's reaction, and maybe receiving many compliments finally starts to ease a little, smiles, and possibly starts asking things like "you really think so?", and the delighted company continues to sustain her opinions. The girl on the left is feeling exhilarated while as the girl on the right is feeling quite bashful.
...
...O-Of Course that's just my analysis. I have no real way of proving this, ergo I could be completely wrong.
This is just my my take one picture, my theory if you will.
(Also, I used company as in an individual who is accompanying another.)

Specifically, I like that the characters "expressions" involve the entire body. Utilizing body language is an important and often difficult art form as you have to correctly arrange and draw the body precisely to match the face in order to send a clear message. Stacey is excited, as is clearly seen in her giant smile but more than that she is clasping her hands near her face in a readily identifiable "excited" pose. Add to that her lifted leg and perky tail, her whole body is communicating "excitement and glee"!
Nikki is looking away and down with arched eyebrows and a half grin, typical of a shy or embarrassed expression. Her body compliments that emotion with her arms crossed in front of her (as if she's hiding behind them) which is a common action when one is feeling very shy or embarrassed. Her legs are bent and her knees pressed together which is another common body signal of submission, shyness, or embarrassment. Last of all, her tail is tucked between her legs which is used by canines to express fear, embarrassment, humility or shame. All together it is a total package of expression, and I commend you on being able to effectively use all those techniques together.

Thanks ^_^ For all intents and purposes, I'll say that I subconsciously drew Stacey...
Although Nikki wears glasses so I'm not entirely sure who I drew here... seems kinda random to me

Nikki does wear some cute glasses and the shy fox has none, but she does favor Nikki and I added in the bit about the contacts/ no glasses to account for Nikki not having them. Hehehehe

I suppose I ought to comment on the art directly. It's very nice. Both characters look very cute and have nice expressions. Their forms are natural (as natural as an anthropomorphic fox can be, anyway)and pleasing to look at. You can read a lot into the facial expressions and body language of the characters. I would enjoy seeing this sketch cleaned up a bit and colored if you ever had a desire and the time to do so.

The premise is that if you do something slowly enough times you get smooth at it, and once you are smooth you get faster.

Hmm, I get the idea that the cheering fox is happy since her friend has finally tried on a dress she scorned and hated for years but cheery thought it could work on her. And in the end the friend will think so too.
Great work on the poses and designs! I love your sketches
