The first time I read a Danny Phantom and Dr.House crossover I had the trouble of deciding whether to imagine a real life Danny or a Cartoon-like House. At the end, I couldn't resist making House go into Danny's world xDTo help the mental image I made this little illustration for my personal favorite from those crossovers: "A different sort of House call" by . It's meant to be a spin off of "Lab rat" which is also one of my favorites.
So, how can Dr. House cure a patient whose heart does not beat, whose lungs need no air, whose temperature is beyond hypothermic and that by all means should be dead? Of course, always having in mind, House does not believe in ghosts...

Kind of makes you think, is Danny dead/undead in his ghost form but alive his human for or is he dead/undead in both his ghost and human form (you'd think someone would've noticed then, like "you're really cold" or that he doesn't seem to be breathing or something) or if he's alive in both forms but just has ghost-like powers (kind of like how Spider-man has spider-like powers but isn't a spider.) Personally, I always thought he was alive but just had ghost powers.Β

I was always under the same impression, but a little more along the lines of being a brand new species. Like, an ecto-biological being of fully sentient nature. So, ever cell in his body has a little bit of ectoplasm. With shimmering blood in human form & darker ectoplasm in ghost form.
I imagine something like in the fan fiction "A Shadow of a Doubt" to be Phantom's biology.

An interesting theory but it doesn't make much sense to me for him to be a different species. I think it makes more sense for him to still be human but his cells now have ectoplasm; it's says in the song that his DNA was changed so like Spider-man he's still human but his biology has been changed (he's basically a mutant/mutated human like many other superheroes.) Plus, other ghosts are sentient and are made of ectoplasmΒ (I think)Β so he wouldn't be the only one; he's just one of the few others that has both a human and ghost form.Β Other ghosts could be another species but they seem to have been alive in the past and the impression is that they're dead now. I also kind of like the idea of him being dead in his ghost because it makes it darker and creepier. It also makes sense if other ghosts are dead and he's part-ghost/part-human than it makes sense that he's part dead/part alive.

Personally, I just picture them in their own style together, meld of real and cartoon. I can't do it any other way. :/
