one suggestion, it would look nice to have a drop shadow on the parts of the wall that overlap the photo. Justa small one to give it a little realistic depth

I just used the Polygonal lasso tool to select what I wanted to keep, then I copied the selection, deleted the existing layer, and then pasted the selection onto the wallpaper.
