Yeppers that was the whole concept I was trying to aim for... I'm glad that I was successful with doing that.
Ah yeah... you might of not notice because his eyes aren't always those colors... but I started to do it (from time to time) because when I first introduced him into the world of dA long before this account even existed I brought him in with both blue eyes (for my own reasons) but after a while... I made them brown for him to be/feel more like "me" ... but now and days.. during occasional moon phases his eyes will change which and anyway of "my" choosing... but naturally his eyes are both brown... but be careful when you see "multi colors at once".

Be careful when they are multicolored? What happens when they are like that? That's pretty coolz with the changing eye color. They remind me of some kitties I've seen with eyes like that and they are so cute like that. Your welcome for the fav. anytime.

Typically he is using more "power" than if he just have "1 color set" (normally/naturally they are brown... but he sometimes have them both blue... but those aren't the only colors he can change them to be..) .. but when you see his eyes become Heterochromia... watch out.. he's about to do something "unexpected"... of course that is only if his eyes wasn't already like that but that's another story for another time.
But yeah...Heterochromia is a trait with some cats... and I do have Rune "try" to do the cute role... but it's hard to do a role for your character who's ME when I myself am not really cute by "eye site".

Don't say that about yourself. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! That includes your eyes as well. :]
That's pretty cool of an idea to link your character's eye colors to powers or actions. I've yet to see another character do that, just on eye color alone. Is your character Sonic the Hedghog based?

Well I personally wouldn't think that I was that bad... plus my eye has a shine to it because I'm a kind heart loving person in reality... but that's only my opinion about myself.

Yeah his eyes are also linked to emotions... brown could mean anything or normal state. Blue could either mean sadness or calmness (ears coming down also indicates "relaxed"... or "sadness"). Much to be told on a story with Rune. Yeah I try to separate my character from the rest but at the same time linking him to being as much as me as possible in reality.
Yes my character is me in Mobian form (Sonic The Hedgehog based)... or me in their universe or something like that.

Don't worry. Its good to have a good opinion about yourself! Especially if you see things about yourself that no one else sees which makes it more special. :]

Though rather me having a good opinion about myself or not... it doesn't really help me feel better about it if others don't see it.. pretty much my own opinion doesn't matter since it doesn't help me from not being alone in life... and that status matters more to me than my own opinion as I despise being alone in anyway. ><
(Just saying...)

As far as Rune having a background... it's kind of considered "unknown" ... though his background is much more of a reflection of my own... he is very much "me" rather than "just another one of my characters" if you know what I mean~ Just "me"... in another world and version... I have one in many universes... just Rune is the "main focus" sort to speak.

Don't worry about the late reply... things haven't been that well for me so I'm slower than usual myself.

I think your view of yourself does matter. It shows up in your personality, attitude and how you interact with others. People can sometimes sense your self worth in some cases. If you think highly of yourself then you most likely will show some sort of confidence and then most likely people will see it in you. Also even if we all think sometimes that people's opinions matter the most, you really have little control over what they think even if you think you see yourself differently. Caring so much can drive a person mad and into depression because one cannot please everyone. One could even go as far as to even become unhappy because they try to fit the mold others want them to be just because they don't want to be alone but still feel alone anyway. I understand not wanting to feel alone though.

So Rune's background story are the many secret parts of your life? :]

I was trying out new techniques with this one here... but then again every "other" picture I submit I'm doing something different with a technique... I'm never satisfied XD lol!!
