Description
[Used Hoya HMC Filter ND(x8) and Slowed Shutter Speed]These amazing falls were sorta discovered or stumbled upon by my husband and I as we were trekking in the Smokey Mountains (Galinburg, TN)... we were tired of being on the trail so we took a 'detour' and climbed down the mountain side and found this 'Hidden Treasure". After taking a few shots we unloaded our packs and had lunch.... So breath-taking.

i also found this hidden treasure I think I like this one more than the actual Grotto fall.
I didn't get a chance, but if you travel just a bit farther down stream there, there is also a nice fall. It included a log when i was there, the water ran through the middle of the log from on end out the other, it was kind of neat looking
take a look at my photos of Grotto

Whoa! How freaky and cool at the same time.
I agree I like the placidity and tranquility of 'Hidden Treasure' more than Grotto.
Grotto is beautiful, but what I call 'Hidden Treasure' is much more hidden and quiet.
I trekked to the same fall your speaking about with the log.. It is very beautiful as well.
I have seen your foto of Grotto - very nice.... so funny how we took a foto of the same falls.
Thank you so much for your comments; what a joy!

We were about to skinny dip and decided against it; thinking we'd get caught.
Who knows......

awesome. I'm expecting my ND filter to arrive today. I can't wait to do some stuff like this. I think I got a ND4 filter, I might have to send for an 8 as well.

Great shot. Congratulations on stumbling upon this treasure. That part of the country is know for beautiful waterfalls. A few years ago I drove 500 miles and planned a vacation around one. [link] And it was worth it.

Aww, thank you so much. You are so kind.
Yes, there is allot of beauty... I did not want to come home.
Whoa, I hiked to Roaring Fork 5 years ago on my previous visit to the Smokey's... the foto I took above was about a hours trek from your foto link you sent. "Small world". You're shot is lovely too.

I took the easy route, following a gravel service road on a half-mile hike. But I was carrying 30 pounds of large format camera gear. The spring sun was filtering through the trees and I could have stayed right there all day.
