Description
I made a Steven Universe Oc because...I just love that show so much! And I wanted to see if I could draw that style...which I can't, but I still like Opal! I'm going to make another one called Topaz (may change the name) but I need to get an idea in my head.
But I'll make more refs on Opal later cause I wanted you all to like her...wanted to make rp friends hehe. But oh well!

Rebecca Sugar stated that Gems with the same name are fine, and she says that she thinks she'd be Ruby if she were a Gem! So, canonically, it's fine ^^

Well technically she's just pearl and amethyst fused together

just like when Sugilite became hostile. If it was JUST Amethyst and Garnet fused together, they probably would have had the common sense to not go all crazy like that.

Some people have that birthstone susch as me. maybe there are other crytal gems with the same gem, like your gem is your race

I guess it's like how more than one person in the whole world is named Henry or Bella or Jake, besides, there aren't possible enough types of gemstones to go around. It especially makes sense considering how many different types and colors of each gemstone there are. For example, there is Rose Quartz, with a pink gem, while other gems named quartz may have white or purple gems. It could also be related to hair color, eye color, etc.

Or they could be reincarnations of the same character, like how Steven is the 'Reincarnation" of Rose, only with Human DNA
