Can I ask why you support it? Especially in countries like the U.S., England and France where we do not publicly demean our women. Muslim women don't have to wear masks here, yet they insist on it. If you ask me, that's kind of ridiculous.

It's because they believe in it. They're not forced to wear it if they don't want to, so they think banning it is ridiculous.

The veil is a choice for the women.
The veil is to throw away the idea that a woman's appearance has any influence on how she is. It was to protect the woman. it forces you to look at her as a person. She is a mystery to you until you get to know her for her.
Like that time someone said if everyone on American idol wore masks, there would be a fair judgement of the singing.
But in the end, the choice is up to the woman. It's supposed to be up to them anyway. It's shallow and superficial to think it demeans them. No, it empowers them.

USA and Europe which you speak of, if you look at old photos in the 40s and 50s, you will see the women wearing decent clothes and most of the time cover their head with hats or scarves... and not to mention the nuns in christianity who cover as well...
what happened now in Europe and USA under the name of "Freedom" where women walk around semi-naked and wearing indecent clothes which reveal more than what they hide is actually what is ridiculous my friend...

Ya know what? I'm not even Muslim and I support the veil 200%.I would wear it myself if it wouldn't freak my Arabic professor / my parents out.They'd be all "WTF?You're Muslim-since when?". She'd be all "Eh?! Whats with the hijab? " lmao Shes quite liberal but,I love her her.^_^ The parents- they're just super-Christians.^_^ No fixing that,I'm afraid.

I remember I once saw a program that talked about the veil, and the presenter actually read the Holy Bible and The book of the Jews and in those books there were actually verses talking about the importance of the veil. He also showed scenes and photos from America and Europe in the 40s and 50s and how women were decently dressed, and now the West attacks the veil and decency which they themselves have practiced.
