Well done! I support the veil, and even as a Christian woman, I have taken to, at times, wearing hijab myself. It saddens me that people call it "oppressive." I find it very liberating! I feel so good in hijab that I can't imagine how anyone could deem it "oppressive." It is downright silly!
Thank you for this beautiful stamp, I love it!
Peace be with you!

I'll admit that I am not Muslim and know very little of Islam, but I think that the veil is very beautiful!

me too, a veil for men, for their genitals. this amazing idea sounds soooo good. a penis covered is a penis who doesn't rape. Maybe.

If a woman chooses to wear the veil because of her religion, let her wear it. That really shouldn't be an issue.

I don't mind veils at all, I only dislike people who cover up there face and dignity for politics. Religion and politics should never be together.

Agreed! a face of peace show all her face. A face of war hides her face.

I love this stamp and will most certainly add this. I believe the veil is a very intimate clothing item that a woman can wear. I do not see how it can be viewed as a slavery. I love the beauty that comes from a woman who is modestly dressed and sometimes I feel the rest of the world can use some of the modesty : / but before I drag on I do love the veil it has a respectability and mysticism that garments lack these days.

I'm not a Muslim myself but I don't understand the hatred coming from people who live in absolutely different cultures and have no will to achieve any understanding of that tradition. Also, I'd rather wear a veil than the clothes most teenagers do. I prefer to be covered.
Besides, in most countries it's a choice.
Sorry for the awful english.

I'm glad I'm not a Muslim, I'd probably kill myself I had to wear a damn veil and dresses. It's like slavery to your own body, and yes, some women choose it, but of what percentage? Most are forced by their husbands and family. I have a Muslim friend, she's just a high schooler, and she says at college she'll be forced into wearing by her family and that she defiantly does NOT want to.
How could you support the idea of women covering themselves then let it all loose for her husband? Who's most likely incredibly possessive and abusive if he's going to force his wife into something like this. (for the percentage like this)
And sure, in the US we have half naked women, but it's self expression.
Then again, the women who DO choose to wear the hijab use it for self expression as well. It's still - a low percentage.
I don't support Islam either. Killing people who don't follow their religion? One can be proud of this? Prosecuting their women? Don't tell this is 'not Islam', because if said so, you are no Muslim.
I find it sexism and just pretty fucked up. I'm not being rude, or discriminative, I have Muslim friends, they're wonderful people - but 'Allah' is just a fairy tale, a pretty evil one.
I can't believe people support the idea of women covered like that.
It even makes the Muslim men look like total sex addicts that their society needs to cover their woman b/c men are can't 'hold' themselves at a sight of a woman figure.
The women who enjoy the hijab, let them be! This is their self expression but this stamp looks totally misleading. Considering you're male, I find it absolutely disgusting. Would you wear a hijab and ugly modest dresses? Most girls want to dress classy, wear make up, style their hair and show off all their self confidence. THAT is beautiful! Even though some girls appear 'slutty', the Muslim men appear like sex addicted.
Fuck this Goddamn hijab. Locking the spirit of the girls who wish they could be let loose of that clothing and prosecution. Fuck the arranged marriages. Fuck Islam itself.
Don't think I don't know there are girls who WANT to wear it. But like I said, how many ACTUALLY?
I won't apologize for my rudeness, because I have no reason to. One apologizes when afraid of doing something wrong, I feel I am RIGHT. YOU are the one wrong.
Be ashamed of yourself.

There's a big difference between having an opinion and just being rude. If you don't like Islam or the hijab, then don't comment.
Also, Islam doesn't force the wearing of the hijab, have you even read the Qu'ran?

You'd kill yourself if you had to wear more material than usual? Wow, calm the hell down.
"Most are forced by their husbands and family."
I've met no-one save one who feels compelled to wear hijab/niquab, and every single Muslim I've met, conservative or progressive has told me not to feel pressured to wear it. And that has come from some hardcore conservatives too, so I was surprised. Yes, there are girls who feel co-erced, and that's a terrible thing. But don't think that has to do with the religion.
"I can't believe people support the idea of women covered like that."
You must feel the same way about Nuns, Buddhist monks (who sometimes cover), Women with breast cancer, the entire Christians-who-veil movement, Hindu women, Sikh women, and everyone else in the history of ever who wears a veil. Don't be silly.
"Would you wear a hijab and ugly modest dresses?"
You don't have to dress frumpy to be modest. Again, don't be ridiculous.
"Most girls want to dress classy, wear make up, style their hair and show off all their self confidence. THAT is beautiful!"
Maybe most girls you know. And like I say, you can still dress 'classy' whatever the fuck that means, and have self confidence. Beauty is subjective.
"Even though some girls appear 'slutty', the Muslim men appear like sex addicted."
What the fuck are you talking about? Is that how they appear to you? Is sex so much on your mind you think everyone is like that? If saying that isn't sexist, I don't know what is.
Have fun with your anti-Religion mindset, but I'll tell you it's a waste of time. Everyone has their own 'blik' as the philosopher R.M Hare puts it, that is, their own truth and meaning. Please learn to respect that.

Sometimes what appears to be self confidence can actaully be self conciousness.
You need to read up on your knowledge of Islam, next time don't base an arguement on hearsay.

I used to be against the veil. But now, I wish more women dressed modestly, and I wish the US would accept that. I am going to be a teacher, and finding acceptable teaching attire for someone my age is almost impossible. These women have self respect. Of course I do not support it being forced, but try can wear whatever they want.
