Yellow Samurai Ranger/Shinkenger Power of Earth Animal-Ape Weapon-Earth SlicerFinally, I am back on the bandwagon of this project. Sorry it took so long guys to submit something. I actually do have all these guys sketched out, just need to ink them and color them.
I decided to skip around this time and do Samurai. Why? Because at the time I was drawing these, I was watching Samurai and Shinkenger. I finished Shinkenger, but obviously, the USA version is still running. So, I want to try and work on these at the same time I am watching the USA show.
Since I was watching both shows, and I enjoyed both (Both have their good and bad parts to it, so I don't have a fave) I decided to draw both versions. I do like that some of the characters stayed the same and the storyline. Especially Kotoha and Emily. Well, onward to my next drawing.
Note: BG of Dojo was from a screen-cap from the show, not mine and logo is not mine either.
Next up: Green Samurai Ranger!!

How I see their kids:
Emily: Her child with Mike would halve plant and rock power, so by association, I have nothing.
Kotoha: Her kid with Takeru would have powers of Fire and Earth, and By association, Magma and Glass.

Nice work on this piece
While I wanted to give Samurai a try, I gave up on it after about 10 episodes. The reason why I did is because I watched Shinkenger when it first came out in 2009, long before Samurai popped up. When I started watching the Samurai episodes, I noticed that...well, in all honesty...it was just a Americanized version of the original show's plot.
I know that SOME PR adaptations take the plot of the Sentai they adapted from directly, but they at least added something different to make it original. Samurai, to me, has no originality at all outside of the pointless Mega Modes and other power-ups they made. They plots are the same, the characters are the same, the settings are the same, even some of the CAMERA ANGLES are the same. I was hoping Samurai was going to have an original story and plot, that still kept to the Samurai theme but not entirely copy it from the source material. I just feel that Saban could've done way, WAY better.

I do agree that the sentai version had better scenes and a much better way of telling the story. But what do you expect, Shinkenger was made for a older audience (blood and there is some cursing), while here it has to stay within the 'for kids' theme. Tho' there were some scenes in the USA version that just made me cringe (cheesy bits). But as an artist that loves power rangers (and vowed to finish this project), I have to keep watching these episodes. So...suffer I must, lol!!
