I got the idea to ketch Mal as a Paladin of Tiamat, partially to display the idea of what the weapons and armor of a soldier of the Chromatic Queen would look like. I'd say he's either an Oathbreaker or a Conquest Paladin.
If you're wondering about his eye, he's just missing the Hand and the Blade.
