Yeah this popped in my head right after I drew my other pic "She's Mine". For those who didn't know, in Greek Mythology, Zeus and Hades are brothers, Zeus made love to his sister Demeter in which they had a daughter named Kore, Zeus gave his daughter to Hades for a bride, so Hades married his own niece and changed her name to Persephone, since Persephone is Zeus' daughter, that would make Zeus and Hades father and son-in-law even thought they are brothers, bizarre huh? Well, in the Disney version since they censored A LOT of stuff (regarding Zeus and Hera actually being a loving couple and having Hercules) Iβd Persephone was in there, I would think that her and Hades willingly married but her mother was just disapproving of it. At least, thatβs the censored version XD

Actually.. Persephone was the daughter of nature, Hades saw her and watched her for a while cause she was beautiful and after watching her he realized he loved her, so one day she was picking flowers and he opened up the ground beneath her and she fell into the underworld where he proceeded to attempt to swoon her. When that didn't work, he told she could go, but she should eat first, the food being his way of apologizing. She was glad to be leaving so she took a bite of a pomegranate. Little did she know, the food was actually Hades back up plan for keeping her there. Because she ate (i think) 7 seeds, she has to stay in Hades 7 months of every year. When she was missing her mother got all depressed and caused this big cold famine type thing, which was the first time ever it had been like that. Now whenever Persephone, nature (can't remember the name so you might be right on the parents part) gets all sad and we get winter. 7 months of cold.

Oh, and Hera was Zeus's sister. And Herakles married Hebe, who was the godess of youth who was, guess what? Zeus's daughter.
It might seem really weird but these kind of relationships make sensewhen you realise that the gods were the first beings around, so they didn't exactly have much choice when it came to marriage.
And when you think about what Hades and Persephone represent it totally makes sense. I mean, Hades is god of the Underworld right? And Persephone is the godess of spring, and plants grow from the ground. Greek mythology's cool because a lot of the stories have this kind of hidden meaning to them.
