That must have ended up being a huge photoshop file! How well does PS handle such a massive resolution?

Depends on the hardware. I have no issues on my desktop but I wouldn't try such a big canvas on say, a surface tablet.

Oh for sure, a tablet would have way too little RAM for something like that. Are "normal" tablets like that actually any good for art? I'd be surprised if they have pressure-sentivie surfaces. Or is it the stylus that's pressure sensitive?

I know that the microsoft surface pro 3 and 4 are pretty decent, pressure sensitivity and all and the Cintiq Companion is decent too. Beyond these I don't know much about other tablets, but generally speaking, they don't have pressure sensitivity.
