Hey guys! Here's my submission for DA's 'Transformation Challenge'

The theme of this 'Transformation' is my artistic process. I wanted to show how small I feel when beginning a piece, I need to attack the piece in order to move it around - it feels very overwhelming, like the pressures of what it could be keep weighing in around me. There are a few faint sparks of inspiration here that carry my hand through the entirety of the piece.

The magic here is in the effort put in, the mountains carved and climbed, the world-building that goes into painting. I wanted to show the sparks of inspiration in the ores, the depths of my mind. I painted the light to pour in in the second panel, through parting clouds, to show an 'awakening' garnered from hard work and applied ambition.

The last panel is a fantastical panorama where onlookers can peer inside the vision I've brought into reality.

My radically different state is being one with my art and the fantastical life I strive to create, inviting others in and looking on as I soar through the clouds as a dragon taking flight.' I've kept flight as a recurring motif in each panel to show imagination taking flight and its presence throughout what I do.

This piece took me three days, I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 Legacy Edition. All Textures and photo-references are from my own personal collection. 80% of the piece was painted with a custom-made hard round brush that has an edge erased out to create a rough texture.
