what do you do the b&w on then? if you paint on normal mode? o:

Yes, usually start to pain on it in normal and soft light (just to have an idea of colors)

Ahh, it looks really neat. I'm glad you posted the steps!
I'm horrible at rendering, so my stuff never comes close to being a more "finished" value piece like number 3.
It looks really good however, and I'm happy to see the process! Thanks for sharing

just study photo deasatured and you'll be able to manage b/w

Does "normal" mode that you paint in a new layer with normal fusion mode over the finished sketch one? : ) Thanks for posting this process!! : )

yes, after sketch, start "traditional painting" way...in normal mode (just sometimes go on sketch layer to see if something is wrong
