Description
11x14 acrylic on canvas. This is a color interpretation of my original "Bass Slappin' Babe" done in ballpoint. It may look a little odd since my scanner goes only up to 8.5x14, so I had to scan the painting in two parts and then combine them in PShop and touch up here and there.Well'p..enjoy!

lol she forgot to put the endpin up and is playing backward, and even that cannot take away from how adorable this piece is. I love her expression and I'm happy that the standup bass is getting some attention.
Oh, and by the way, the bass you drew looks exactly like the first bass I ever played! It's eerie lol.

Yeah it is backwards. I didn't take that into account when I painted it up.

I still expect to see a woman in overalls, standing in a river, fishing for bass whenever I see this title.
This is much better.
Those fire decals are groovy.

Thank you! Did you notice the purply pinstripe in the lower left hand corner? When I started it, it looked kinda like an armadillo...so I added eyes, a nose, and feet..!

I hear ya!! My wants to learn to play the stand-up, so I'm looking high and low, and on the net for an inexpensive one, then I'll add my own flourishes to it..!!

What did was mask off everything except the bluejeans, and used white, sky blue, and a light purple paints. With it all masked off, I took an old toothbrush (which I keep in my artists brush kit..a must for all painters ) mixed the paint down to a consistency that'll allow me to flick the paint onto the canvas...just get some paint on the t-brush, and using your thumb, just kinda' flick it!!
You'll figure it out...it's easy and fun and makes a great effect! I used to use the same proceedure to make star patterns in my comics.
