Description
Once again I found I couldnt sleep so I resurrected something from my graveyard of unregarded, half imagined work and wasnt short of company...Not totally happy with it, and its a bit rough here and there, but it passed the time amiably enough and didnt need feeding.
(May return to this at some point if i can think up something suitable to add in the background.)
EDIT : Returned for a bit of a fiddle about. Not a major edit but I feel an improvement. Tightened up some of the details and added some creepy backlit shadows I felt it was lacking.

I really like the idea and the execution... but it does look unfinished. I mean like you mentioned in your description, it really needs a background - and also finishing touches on the body. Don't get me wrong, its a great piece - but with the right background this has a potential to be totally awesome.

but having said that, it does focus on the pale figure and the horrible wrongness of the face. i think that was what stayed my hand too.

may i suggest to add just more contrast to give a cold, sharp, brutal effect? (personal opinion, feel free to kill me). i feel the concept really close to me, recently, i guess you can read in my mind. Great shot, sir. really great.

i know what you mean unfortunately i tend to lose the icy luminous feel of the ghostly skin when i increase the contrast

Yep, thinking about it more carefully without the ghostly appereance the concept will be less powerful. Sorry, came in my mind by instinct.
