Hello DeviantDarksiders !Today is an evil day (why ?), so here's an evil William from Code Lyoko Evolution !
He appears in the 15th episode only (why ?²), he's badass !

That wasn't Dark William, that was X.A.N.A. f*cking around (sorry) and trying to get William back to his/her/it? side.
I don't know why X.A.N.A. (f*ck so many ".") is so obsessed with him, but hey! Computer brains: they seem to act like a fangirl!.

Yup, the first time (ep 15) it was XANA (I don't care about the "." xD).
But later in episode 22, William was controlled again and went back in XANA's side with this suit.
I think XANA chose William because he was already controlled before.
And at that time, William had resentment towards the group of Jeremy.
So XANA took advantage of this resentment.

XANA was being a freaking fangirl. "Here you are a king" "You only need me" and crap like that. Seriously, it's a fangirl.
And yes, that's one of my favourite episodes of the new series, but I didn't understand one thing...why connect the thingies to him, instead of the old hug and brain-drinking? And then, why showing off you got William in front of the others, knowing they could save him, instead of taking him away and giving the other a ticket back to reality?I don't get it.

The answer to your questions is simple :
The scenario sucks.
Listen, I like the new series it's not the problem.
But it's full of inconsistencies and illogical things that doesn't respect the original series.
Even the new writers have admitted they have not watched the original series.
They only watched a few important episodes.
Like you I guess, I would have preferred that William was captured by XANA and later released by the group.
Unfortunately XANA is stupid and left the group releasing William without resistance.

And, killed the jellyfish thingie like it was another monster by just cutting off the tentacles. Nooothing else. I mean, the freaking thing was nearly invincible in the old series, now it just dies almost by surprise?
And, okay, I may be answering the question by myself but...why? I mean, yeah, William is quite powerful with his sword and all, but the obsession XANA has with him is nothing a computer could have. Even in the old series, XANA was with William like "that's mine, don't touch it or else". I guess XANA works with statistics, but after some defeats, I would left the guy go home and take another chance with someone or something else, I don't know...a rock or something.
I really like the idea of XANA understanding human emotions, and learning from us, and being more human as the time goes on, but that...I don't know. I like it, but I don't really get it: Why XANA need a human working under its orders?.

The new writers did not respected the basic of the previous series.

I think XANA is... no.. was not stupid in the old series.
By using a human, XANA can easily approach and capturate Aelita.
Then, when XANA understood that William was a friend of the group of Jeremy, he was able to use this link to do whatever he wanted.
XANA is a cruel program who knows how to use the friendship bonds and enjoy the benefits.
That's why he used William.

I still don't get it. I mean, yeah, he used William to get close to Aelita, yada yada yada, but William was still a human. He could create a human-looking monster and do the trick.
That's what I mean. He kept William because yes, or maybe because being a human allowed him to reach more "features" that a program could never get.
