"Also, Sunset has better assets." No. Everyone only THINKS that because she's the fan favorite, and the one whose sex appeal everyone's eyes are the most OPENED to, nothing more, nothing less. You'd be saying the exact same thing about Pinkie if she was the more loved over all. The fact that nobody thought of Sunset in that way until she became the fan favorite in Rainbow Rocks proves this. In the end, they're TRUELY (more or less) all equals.
