Why, indeed. All you do is sit down upright in a park bench in one scene, and an entire mythology is built around that one scene. It makes as much sense as a human version of you from "Equestria Girls" being obsessed with ponies and hooves. For one thing, having all these fingers means a lot more nails to clip and take care of--yuck.
Just keep being you, Lyra. Don't let this thing get to you too much; some bronies can be a little silly like that. Just keep being the sweet pony you are.
