He is usually the straight man when Twilight panics. Of course that has limits since he is still a little kid.

I most spike episodes though they make him create so many problems by one small action. In the one episode where he basically stole twilight's job and then abused it, I was screaming at him to just say twilight is resting since she hadn't gotten any sleep in 3 whole days.

Slice of life episodes also are about characters trying to fix the issue they caused in the first place. Not to mention that I think the writers don't know how to handle Spike, or Dragons in general.

You know who they need to have fixed is celestia. Oh my god! Celestia can't do crap! The finale also makes me so annoyed when twilight was all "I don't know why my friends and I are so important." YOU'RE IMPORTANT BECAUSE YOU DEFEATED THE ENEMIES CELESTIA COULDNT! She it showed that celestia can't do anything at least by herself. She always needs some kind of help.

That is a problem, too. On one hand they have a physical goddess, but on the other hand they need a reason why Twilight & Co are so important. Maybe they should come up with her having some kind of handicap that prevents her from using her powers to solve such issues.

The only exception I find is chrysalis who beat pretty much everybody until cadence escaped. Which btw was really stupid. What does she just have bouquets stored on her for emergencies?
