Tirek was a villain from the first generation and I think the joke is suppose to be a play on his name "tie- rec" The tie is now a rec.Β

Actually, there is a canon preview of the finale. Tirek looks like Rafiki from Lion King, and he can STEAL YOUR CUTIE MARK! HIDE YOUR FLANKS EVERYPONY! RUN!!
Also,the Cutie Mark disappeared in the preview is a group of Emeralds from MC. MINECRAFT PONY CONFIRMED! IT IS CANON!
