Description I wasn't really happy with my current art's level so study time. Did it from a famous sculpture, "Ugolino and His Sons" by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux.

Want to see how I did it? Here's the progress gif.

Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

Overall this is very well done! The proportions are perfect as well as the structures of the body.
However you should not be afraid of getting those darks in! It needs a little bit more contrast to get the realistic look you desire. I think it would give more depth to the piece and create more visual impact. I get that impact from the photo, but not so much in your art because it's to much on the same tone.
This is just an advice I hear from a lot of youtube artists and I think it would favor your future art, so it turns out even more beautiful that already is. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
Just an amazing job on those textures as well! Some parts need more contrast as I said before, but it's nicely done!

Congratulations! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>

This is a very well done study, that being said, I do agree with the comment below.  You have the form as almost perfect but your value range is missing some deep dark shadows, and some subtle lights.  Especially your shadows.  Shadows are such a powerful thing, and I think you a missing some key shadow areas below the right hand.  Next time you do a study, pay particular attention to the shadows.

Aw thank you. You're right about the values. Even with that, I realized I've learned a lot from it and am already implementing it in my personal pieces so all is good... it did its purpose for now. I am doing another related study, this time with feet. Hopefully, I will nail down the values this time. Thank you again very much for your feedback!

yeah,  the more you do the more you learn, no matter how crapy or great it is.

Cant write a longer critique, but I think it would help your forms and 3d-looks a lot if you would use a longer value range. The first thing, that stands out for my eyes is that the lightest and darkest spots in your study are slightly (but very visible for the eye) lighter or darker in the original. If you dont get what I want to say with my pitiful english, you can pm me and I'll try to explain it better or send you an overpainting.

Cheers

Thank you! I think I understand what you mean by the values. I kinda noticed that kinda too late and don't want to mess it up afterward. XD Lower hand suffers much more from the lack of value range, but hey at least I learned one or two things from it. I'll try to keep that in mind for next study. Again, thank you for your lovely critique and don't worry, your English is just fine.
