Description
Solaran beacon outposts are essentially a transmission array that has been built around a reactor and a bare-minimum of crew facilities. Most of the interior is given over to the equipment required to keep these "space lighthouses" operating, so they are a rather cramped place to live and work.=====
This model is in formats native to the following programs:
Blender 2.48
Bryce 5.5
Sketchup 6
Vue 6
OBJ compatible programs
Also included are the texture maps. The airlock doors do have UV coordinates, but those coordinates were automatically derived, so there is no UV "guide" for them.
This model has no movable parts.

Right on! I like the way you've chosen to light the model, as I think that going with a "dark" look makes it more convincing.

If you haven't cruised through my "3D Meshes and Data" gallery, you might find some more things to play with. It's here: [link]

The Blender model definitely has that "now" sort of dark look. I think it has quite a bit to do with how the lighting was handled (I didn't make a conscious effort to unify the lighting schemes), but no matter how it happened, it certainly did happen.

Cool! I certainly do like how Vue's honest to goodness GI lighting makes the luminous bits actually illuminate things.

You can do that in blender too, if you use radiosity for GI.. it's a little complicated though
