I'm in awe!
This weapon is beautiful, I want to see more of it.
Although I have to agree with DarthShymoogy, that an external battery for an energy weapon is not really necessary, but other than that it's amazing!!
I would love see more of this weapon.

Very solid-looking AR. Well done.
The one thing you may consider is the picatinny rail; the reddot looks pretty permanent, as does the A2 grab-handle. Having those things permanently mounted on a modular rail system is kind of counter-productive. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but I'd definitely want both of those to be easily removable.
Other than that, great design.

Not to diminish your work on this arc of yours- I am greatly impressed with the detail and the concepts you use here, and I am intrigued about whatever story you may have in the works- but I don't think the standard assault rifle shape is appropriate for any kind of portable electromagnetic gun. There's no need for a perpendicular magazine if there is no need for loading bullets into a barrel. Even the P-90 doesn't have that type of loading design, and it does use bullets.
For a weapon of this nature, be it laser or probably more likely a particle generator, it could be as simple as a club with a trigger button and it would be fine. Add the flair of neo-industrial to keep with your style, sure, but the M-16 or AK appeal would be more for nostalgia than technical necessity. Personally, if I made a plasma rifle or particle generator as an anti-personnel weapon (not my first choice, though, kinetic rounds would do better against a physical creature), I would embrace a different design which could also be used as a melee weapon.

Battery means laser rifle. or plasma rifle a la terminator. They have the ammo, read hydrogen, combined with the baterry. Very easy to replace mags. The concept I love because I believe it is easier to load front mags than rear one like the bullpup design. The design is great well tought and could be built today, if there was energy weapon present. The only thing missing is a ammo counter. Unless it is designed to appear on the HUD of the wearer.

It looks great kind of question how it works is it a laser rifle or is it suppose to have bullets also and be a rail rifle?

I'm curious, what sound would it give off while firing? It almost gives me the impression it would sound like a much deeper Plamsa Rifle from Doom 3.
