Is that saber by any chance from a spin off game or something?

Klonoa Heroes: The Legend of the Star Medal.

It's an Action RPG for the GBA and the last game for the franchise besides the Wii-make of the first; it's also Japanese exclusive.

it was one of 6 weapons he used in Klonoa Heroes

the others being a Hammer, the wind bullet (is default ring), the beam Gnome (its an energy sheild), Arm cannons, and boomering( thought it looks like s big shurikenXD )

Yes, it's from Klonoa Heroes, a one-off GBA RPG released only in Japan. Pretty much an attempt to make Klonoa badass, really.

This is well done.  action packed, and Klonoa looks so good.  Although when he jumps forward at the end of the loop is a wee distracting.  I think you shifted him back by 3 or 4 pixels .  If he did not do that, it would be a perfect loop.

4 frames lol

To be fair a few of the frames in the animation had to be moved around to make

it flow correctly.

hey do you have any tips on getting commissions? like, how did you start out when not much people knew of your work .-. should i resort to a different platform or

I guess branch your art and animation on sites like twitter and tumblr,

try to also draw and animate stuff from other franchises like overwatch and whatnot.

it's a good way for people to spot your work, sonic mania and deltarune stuff is how i got noticed more.

hope that helps

I do that sometimes

ProjectAwesomes In reply to DOA687 [2019-05-10 22:21:24 +0000 UTC]

hey buddy!

I apologize to bother you. i started getting the hang of Aseprite, and I'm starting to get the idea of your technique "monkey see monkey do" kind of flow

my animation went smooth, however when i tried putting it in Photoshop.... it did its classic "100 frames 100 layers" kind of deal....

and from there, i have no idea how to put it back into Aseprite!

you mentioned you use Photoshop for design, Aseprite for animation, Photoshop again for polishing and final effects, and maybe even Aseprite again

could you give me some pointers on how its feasable to transfer it back and forth without any headache?

Greatly appreciate all the answers and replies you've given to me thus far. really helped me push past my fears of trying a new program.

DOA687 In reply to ProjectAwesomes [2019-05-11 09:28:36 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure if its feasible to do so without a headache,

you'd have to save each frame in png then put them back into aseprite again unfortunately

ProjectAwesomes In reply to DOA687 [2019-05-11 09:49:05 +0000 UTC]

aww man, is that what you go through every artwork?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DOA687 In reply to ProjectAwesomes [2019-05-11 10:31:59 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately but when it comes to animations like the milla attack, I tend to make the animations in parts like

her getting ready, up in the air, the attack and return to stance animation.

That way I won't have to work as much when I put the pngs back into aseprite.

ProjectAwesomes In reply to DOA687 [2019-05-11 13:28:27 +0000 UTC]

oh neat Aseprite converts the png's into frames

im starting to see why you do it by parts... is it cause it converts all of them into one layer with dozens/hundreds of frames?

i can see this being slightly difficult, animating with one layer...

if you could just tell me if you prefer dozens of layers to manage, or dozens of frames. which do you choose? or do you mix it up

one last thing! i did File>export>Render video 29.97 fps, but it did doubles here and there..... what's your setting for exporting pngs?

really appreciate it dude. saving me hours/days of headache. got like 3-4 people i look up to in terms of pixel. you're one of em

DOA687 In reply to ProjectAwesomes [2019-05-11 14:01:16 +0000 UTC]

I export them as GIFs then use something like irfranview to extract all the frames

exporting the sheets is something I never usually do
