Hey! Its Louis agian, and this is the colored version of this! [link]I thought I would color it up and shade it since I've been meaning to since I sketched it.
Once again this is not orginal, I looked at a movie still of Louis and used that to practice drawing him.
I did somethngs to the colored picture, while digitally outlining it, I decreased his belly size (I STILL think he looks too fat -.-;;; ) and I gave him eye colors too.
In the movie he did show some eye color during his moments of overactting and they looked hazel, so I stuck with hazel.
and the background.. Well, I could have drawn better trees and a better bayou. -.-;;; I don't know where he's at but he's looking at a book right now.
But hey, Enjoy this now! It was hard to shade! XP

Ah, not bad indeed sir! I personally have not seen this movie, but I believe I should be able to provide a decent critique.
Overall the anatomy's not bad at all, in fact outwardly I don't see any issues to deal with whatsoever! Haha, I think the idea of him holding the trumpet with his tail is actually pretty clever!
The shading is just as well I believe, at least upon the character. I notice that, as always, you employ the use of cel shading. I'd say, on the character, it looks well done! However, we barely see any shading on the background, if at all. I'd say, for consistency's sake, you may want to add a bit more shadows. Underneath the pier, for example, should work well. Judging from the direction of the shadows on LOUIS!!!, I'd recommend perhaps 5:30 shadows from the guardrail of the pier to cast down into the platform. If you want to get really fancy, I'd recommend putting shadows from the trees into the water as well. Since you're using photoshop, water shadows work nicely if you smudge them just a bit due to the fact that water is very often not a perfect surface.
Lastly, for the deep background, I'd recommend having things that are further away look darker, due to the fact that it seems like a relatively dark scene (though Louis's shadows would suggest otherwise so I am not sure if it is meant to be dark or not). Hm, and did you per chance use a gradient for the sky in the distance? Well, it works, though it can be a little distracting. It's not a problem, it's simply noticeable is all, meaning it draws attention to itself because it's shaded different then the rest of the picture.

Even if you hadn't really drawn this with an original concept in mind, I love how you drew him in your own style. Very much like he looks in the movie. (I would say if I had seen the movie.)

Oh wow. This actually isn't too bad. It has a nice level of balance, and less awkwardness that I usually see in most drawings of Louis. Also, I don't know if it is because I don't visit your page enough, but I am rather surprised to see this was done by you.
