I have been missing my romantic side. Passion is a driving force for an artist, I believe, and mine is often coupled with desires and a romantic outlook. Granted, this made a piece like this, given the subject matter (fairies, gothic Victorian / Edwardian gentleman, etc), in the end a bit more aimed at the feminine, I admit. But if you shoot for a subject and its popular artists (the names of which escape me at the moment, but just walk into Hot Topic and look at the Postcards) you might as well just go for it, pastel colors be damned.I just wanted to draw a hot couple making out - In the end I added the idea of a fairy and a gent. Go fig.
Micron pens on Strathmore 400, 9x12 and colored in Adobe Photoshop 7 (I need to upgrade, and I need a new printer, feh). I used a few layers/filters on the wings.

I'm a guy and appreciate the romance there. It's really sexy and pretty original to me how you did the ribbons on the faery's legs. I've never seen it done to that extreme, except in some of my own concept drawings, and it in those cases, they weren't ribbons but sandal straps. Bravo! [link]

I really like this! That rich red against her skin and his black suit is almighty sensual--your color choices are great. Her wings are cool, too. Definitely among your better pieces overall, and one of the tops of you digitally-colored drawings.

and i always thought that fairies are shy creatures of the wood.
She has more traits of a dryad, who lures traveller into their realm with their seductive abilities. Although this traveller doesent look very innocent, ...
