Description
Here is my vision of the Behemoth, the biggest and mightiest terrestrial beast created by God according to the Bible, described in the Book of Job (40:15-24) ! Its name comes from the Hebrew word "behemah" which means "beast", or "livestock", and only Yahweh can tame it (by piercing its nose with a snare, as suggested at the end of the creature's description). Despite its enormous strength and bulky body, the Behemoth is a rather peaceful herbivorous beast, which rests in marshlands, and feeds in the mountains, alongside other animals.
It is the terrestrial equivalent of the Leviathan, associated to oceans/seas, and the Ziz, associated to the sky. It is told that at the end of time, the Behemoth and the Leviathan shall fight each other, before being slain by their Creator, who then will serve their meat to the righteous
