Joining Calytrix to help with the invasion is Poppy, Iris’ twin sister. Poppy is the younger twin by about three minutes. They are rarely seen apart, and are the only Princesses of Darkness that share a bedroom. Although she is a balanced fighter like Iris, she is more focused on being a fighter rather than a mage. She is a Dragoon, specializing in aerial combat, and fighting with spears, although she can use any weapon fairly well. She prefers fighting up close, but can stay a safer distance away to avoid counterattacks.

Her codename is Vamp, but her real name is Poppy. She’s not actually a vampire, but the vamp is another term for a seductress. If Poppy is good at something, seducing men to do her bidding is one of them. Once she has them in her grasp, she will drain their life energy away, just like everyone else in her family is capable of.

Unlike Iris, Poppy is straight, and she’s right handed. In fact, she is very boy crazy. She goes through her boyfriends like tissues during flu season. She’s also known for dating several at once. Poppy will never turn down a date with a man, but if a woman approaches her for a date, she will attack them without a second thought often leaving them fatally wounded.

Her weapon is a Stellar Naginata, which is a Japanese spear with a curved blade. I learned that a lot of women wielded these in Japan, and seem to be the weapon of choice for at least one female fighter in action games. Poppy’s variation of the naginata is made of meteorites and star fragments, hence its name. It can extend for a longer reach with the push of a button, reaching about twice the length it has already. If she performs a jump attack, it deals extra damage to her target. Her Flower Bracer allows her jump attacks to charge quicker. Her Fury Ring gives her extra strength every time an ally falls in battle. May the gods have mercy on you should you take down her twin, for she will not.

She is modeled after Christina Applegate, best known for her portrayal of Kelly Bundy on Married with Children. Poppy has all the sexiness that Kelly has, and none of her ditzy personality. Christina still looks beautiful after the series ended, and I know a lot of people had crushes on her back then. Those outfits certainly helped, and was the inspiration for Poppy showing her waist, though not as much as Violet does. She’s actually blonde like her twin sister, but she dyes it red frequently, just like the flower she’s named after. I wanted her to have a different hairstyle, so I gave her pigtails. She and Iris both wear Mary Jane shoes, and they show their Wild Rose tattoo on full display. Their outfits are very similar, which helps prove that they are twins.
