Description
“Those imbiciles! The gardeners planted white roses when I specifically asked for red! Now I need to find someone to paint my roses red! Who will paint my roses red?”First person who says “Off with his head” will be fired with my “laser!”
Wonderland jokes aside, this is my friend as her own character, the Princess of Hearts, who is inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s own Queen of Hearts. Today is her birthday, and I wanted to make something using one of her beautiful cosplays. This one caught my eye, and it certainly is one of her prettiest cosplays. She gave me permission to use this picture, and I had to do a Wonderland inspired picture.
Every girl wants to be a princess, so every princess has to have her own castle, right? I colored the castle archway red to match her dress. My only regreat is not adding any hearts to the archway. I didn't find any good ones. The original photo of the princess was next to a tangled rose bush that I was NOT going to photoshop. It would've been too tedious to do that, so I only salvaged the bit that she's holding. Because she's holding a flower, she had to walk through a garden, and I figured the castle courtyard would suffice!
Happy birthday,
Credits:
Model: as the Princess of Hearts
Archway, garden background: (separate photos, all edited and combined in Photoshop)
Art: me
Edit: Added some shadows to the scene and some hearts on the archway, which were part of the Webdings text. The hearts were given textures and shadows from Photoshop's filter and layer style options respectively.

Little do most people know these days is that the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts were two different characters. Most of the modern ones confuse it. The red and white queens were based off chess. I've always wanted to see a rendition of that.
You might want to have her a bit lower, and put a soft shadow close to her body near her feet. Photoshop's Light effects can help you match all of the lighting to one light source. Your fusion is good, but if the light sources look too different, it makes it too apparent that you edited it.

I can't believe I forgot the shadow! Thanks for reminding me on that. I'll add that in when I get some free time.
Actually, I do remember reading about the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts being two different characters.

Nah. I wouldn't say that phrase, Doc. All i can say is that it's well blended with the model in the background on the one you did.
Well done, Doc.
