So I heard from a friend recently that Deviant Art is going to be getting rid of STA.SH...Β

Is this true? If so, what does it mean?

Is it just STA.SH Writer? Or is it all of STA.SH?

Am I going to have to back up all my word documents in STA.SH as well as all my images that I have stored for bios?

Please some one elaborate on this. In the mean time, I'm going to start backing things up. Better safe than sorry.

Edit: A friend of mine pointed this out:
Eclipse: How it Affects GROUPS and STASH/WRITEREDIT: I've added some additional information about the new Sta.sh Writer editor below! TL;DR: Groups (and Sta.sh*) will NOT be deleted or phased out when Eclipse launches next month. They will still behave the same way and will NOT be changing with the update! Just a quick update since I know a ton of my friends, peers, and fellow DA artists have been freaking out about the future of DA Groups once May 20th rolls around and everyone is switched over to Eclipse. Understandably so, as there are a lot of rumors that have been circulating about Groups being phased out, deleted, etc. Same for Sta.sh and Sta.sh Writer.Β  A.) So I decided to take...

Maybe this whole this is an exaggeration?

Yeah, been finding this out... Some people are saying they're likely gonna take their stuff to Wordpress in the future.Β

Hm, haven't really heard that. Though imo it's more convenient to use and offline app/program anyways as if something happens to dA's servers you can have it saved

Sta.sh is still going to be around but Sta.sh Writer is going the way of the dinosaurs I'm afraid. But here's a method that I found that allows you to still kinda use it
Β  Surviving the Eclipocalypse: Tips for VS WritersSo, I'm sure all of you have heard about the upcoming release of DeviantArt Eclipse. We've all been dreading this, but this coming update will have Eclipse completely replace the current version of the website, and that has big implications for people who create VS-based literature content on this platform. Among all of the updates this will, bring, one stands above the rest as a huge problem for literature writers on DA in general, and it's this:
Sta.sh Writer is being removed.
Sta.sh Writer is the system that allows us to currently create, edit, and submit writing posts as deviations through the Sta.sh platform. It's being removed to allow for a new Literature Editor, which is on the level of Fandom page editing in that once you start creating something, the Editor will not allow you to close the window without discarding all of your progress. This effectively means that you cannot stop and start your writings as you currently are able to in

Basically it says to go ahead and make a bunch of back-up empty documents in your sta.sh. When Eclipse eventually does hit, those documents will still be there and you can still edit them the same way. But you won't be able to edit them once you publish them and you can't create any new documents

But if that doesn't suite you; here's another method
Sta.sh Writer Bypass Tutorial thingyHey there, my name is Imortal, and I'm gonna do the best I can to explain a way to essentially create NEWΒ Sta.sh writer files inn as simple a way I can. BIG Thanks to :iconTheOKGatsby: for discovering this initially.
Step 1: Open a Literature Piece under DA Eclipse.
Simply just go to the page of any literature piece you desire, sta.sh or otherwise.
Next, what you want to do is go ahead and grab the row of numbers from the URL.
Next, open a new tab, and in the url, put in the following:
sta.sh/writer/#Numbers from the URL.
# is Needed.
This should force you into sta.sh writer.
This Deviantation was NOTΒ Made with Sta.sh Writer, but as such, is forced into the same designated sort of file.
Make whatever edits you want at this point and click Done
You SHOULD Get an error message sayinng how you cannot edit it at this time. This is intended. Simply go to Sta.sh Proper, and then...
Bam, it should be saved as a Sta.sh Writer file.
While everything will be
