This is one of those instances where I spent so long working on the picture that I got really sick of looking at it and decided to play Skyrim instead. For about fifty hours. God damn it.Still, I'm pleased as punch with how it turned out. There were times that I wanted to put my fist through the monitor (those freakin' metroids and their veins...), but it was well worth it. I finally dug up some of the old techniques I had forgotten, and tried out some new ones in the process. All in all, a valuable learning experience.
Oh, the title. So I was trying to make the background look like a Phazon deposit. It didn't turn out anything like that, but it still looked kinda cool, so I let it slide.

HOLY CRAP THOSE METROIDS. They look so good! But sadly they make the rest of it look a little less detailed. It still looks really good though.

Yeah, I wanted to make the armor look more detailed with scratches and whatnot, but I literally had no idea what the hell I was doing. At one point I was just putting down colors and seeing what happened. I took what I could get. But hey, discovery!
