Description As part of the wager Luna lost, when she challenged Hoss Ahlo, Lovely had to become the Imperial Archmagess' pupil.

Her clear, calm, mind writhes with twisted notions of justice and fair combat. Lovely is a veritable monster when pushed, otherwise she is strangely serene and affable. This trait is common amongst Aphkei who are raised with violence but have their emotional training stepped up to incredible levels of reason and emotional denial. That is not to say it is common amongst Aphkei. Lovely is a rare case among rare cases.

Still, Lovely is very able to make friends and even has many suitors, most know what they would be getting into with her.

In mystical combat she is a terror of efficiency and precision. Even the School masters at the ISA can only delay her not defeat her. Only Hoss Ahlo, the one person in the universe that can never actually seem to lose, can defeat Lovely and is the only person besides her mother, Luna, who understands the girl's deeper motives. First among them is to become the next Imperial Archmagess by defeating Hoss Ahlo.

Lovely is constantly pitted against powerful and deadly foes across creation mostly to keep her out of Hoss' way, but also to get the training she really needs to achieve her goals and that means one thing: fight against the Void and live.

Meanwhile Lovely is cutting a swath of literal and metaphorical destruction as she leaves countless mages, wizards, and cosmic beings broken and defeated in her wake.

Easily the strongest student in the ISA, Lovely is considered Hoss Ahlo's attempt to undo a defeat she still feels just looking at the Mystic League: The ISA has never produced a student capable of defeating virtually anyone they are put in front of.

The Mystic League has at least two: Rae Iksaki and Dawna Maukae. Rae soundly defeated Hoss when they were both children and Dawna defeated Hoss when they were adults. Stinging from these defeats, Hoss wanted to produce a single student that could defeat both...

Even if means making a monster, Hoss wants Lovely to be that student.

Now that is impressive!! She and her mother are something else...but I didn't know that Hoss Ahlo had a rivalvy with the Mystic League. Btw, when magic is involved, do they really use cards to summon creatures like Yugioh or Dual Masters? Card summoning is nothing new, but it wouldn't the first time someone used this concept to do "mortal combat" with his/her oppenents.

In Yu-gi-oh it's holographic monsters. The only real magic comes from magic items that really should never have existed. It's like saying everyone plays with toy guns except the few that have real guns.

I lean toward MTG for the idea that you are a wizard or some such fighting other wizards with magic spells and monsters. I decided that spells lined up like bullets in a gun were better to my ends than having "old gray bearded wizard dude" wave his arms and chant to cast. It's more convenient but more costly in terms of power. I'm working on other more modern applications for magic for later use.
