Constantly peering through his enormous telescope, the Watcher keeps an eye on every soul in all of existence, making sure that they do not deviate from their pre-written paths. The eccentric and excitable Watcher takes a great amount of joy in observing the lives of the beings of existence, although his Sandman assistant, Phobetor, remains unamused.
The Watcher’s body is forty feet tall and shaped something like a football, with a wide flattened bottom. His body is made up of several patches of dark blue cloth, stitched together with red thread and filled with small pebbles. Two red ribbons wrapped around the Watcher’s midsection act as arms, ending in hands with five pointed fingers. The Watcher’s mask is made up of three rings of gray plates that constantly slowly rotate, with a single eyehole in the center.
The Watcher lives in an observatory on an island that is constantly buffeted by aethereal snowstorms, keeping all but the most determined of intruders away, which suits him fine. He does not normally leave his tower, as he is incapable of movement, but is capable of transporting himself through space and time, as can the other Wise.
