Description

This takes place immediately after The Breaking Point !

Black clouds sprawled across the gloomy sky, blanketing the earth in a stormy darkness. The air was thick and heavy with humidity. It was suffocating. Sobbing uncontrollably, Bird carelessly crashed through the underbrush. He tried to keep his eyes open, tried to watch where he was going, but his eyes were hardly useful. His vision was blurred with hot, salty tears that ran down his round cheeks and into his mouth. His sides ached and his lungs struggled to take in oxygen, but he kept running. The overwhelming anger that gripped him just minutes ago was gone, now replaced by a deep and regretful sorrow.
The claws of the foliage raked at Bird's legs but he didn't care. As if all the floodgates of the firmament opened at once, the downpour began. Within seconds Bird was soaking wet. He reached the edge of the forest and grabbed on to the banded trunk of a tree. Through his blurred vision, Bird saw a farm. It took him a few moments to realize that he knew this place. Harlie lived here. Unable to think logically, mind clouded with an emotional fog. Bird lunged forward and jogged up to the cozy little house. He reached the door and, in a feeble attempt to knock, Bird practically threw himself at the door. He gasped for air between each sob, creating an odd croaking sound. Bird sank to his knees. He continued to sob, wrapping his arms around himself.
What had he done.
