To change the color of the lineart, I first had to lock the layer's opacity, so that was is already drawn in that layer won't change, but when you draw on it, it stays inside of what is already there. Sorry if my wording was a little confusing..
It's similar to how you lock the color layer.
On Paint Tool SAI, you go onto the lineart layer, and above they layer box there are three bulleted options. The one that locks the opacity of the layer is called "Preserve opacity". You select that, and then you can change the color of the lines without messing up how they were drawn ^-^
In photoshop, instead of having a list, you have to click one of the icons in the top of the layer box. It's generally an image of a square with a checkerboard pattern. This does the same thing c:
