DA's printing arrangements can be complex - there's room forΒmuch improvement......
btw this piece was made as a bit of an exercise in decorative art....
...for me, its not really something to live with, except for
a short time....no?

I remember how much time it took.
All of it is from bits and pieces of the Santa Cruz
mountains, and flowers from Carmel.
I spent a lot of time experimenting with colors.
I never intended it to be ominous. I often intended to put some classical building/temple
barely visible, or a figure.... but I agree, it could be a setting for some Bros. Grimm
story.... good idea...
I also had a version with a gypsy wagon. This piece
was going to be cover art for a gypsy vampire story, and had a gypsy wagon
visible in the opening for a time...

Reminds me of fairytales like Hansel and Gretel. On the surface, the scene looks inviting but I get the feeling there's something bad lurking beyond those trees.
I love the color palette. The browns and golds of the trees and the pink and white of the flowers make for a nice contrast.
