You know, I wanted to take a couple of pics, one morning, and I was in a hurry - like you are when you have to get out of the house and go to work. So I was looking around the kitchen and we have six different bar stools round the table. The orange one has nice lines (there's a similar red one, but the light wasn't falling on it as nicely) so I took a couple of snaps. I did some other stuff too but when I looked through the images that night, this one appealed to me.
I'm always short of time and I always feel guilty that I don't participate more here on DA, which is pretty much the only outlet for my art at the moment, so I thought 'I'll submit that one'. I'm always amazed and very happy when others like my work too and especially when it's those whose work I have a high regard for.Β
So thank you very much - and I mean that from the heart.

Thanks Chris, I only had a few minutes to take some pics, so I looked around the kitchen and this caught my eye. There are five more - there might be a series in this! The lines and colours just seemed to work. There is always something that'll make a decent image, I find. I later did a posterised version which I actually prefer - enough that I might print it A2 or A1 and frame it.

ahhhhh a series sound like a good idea John ... bring it on .... i have to be in the right mood for posterised images although they do have something about them, ive never done one myself

I know what you mean, Chris, it is SO easy to overdo. I only do it if I like the image enough that I don't think it needs it! If the existing lines and the graphic qualities are strong enough, posterising can work to accentuate them. IMHO, of course. This particular one, I like.

Thank you very much, Bo. Yes, it was the lines and colours that drew me to it. I do enjoy this kind of photography - I'm thinking of printing a posterised version of it BIG!

That's amazing! Thanks Bo.
Although, why they spent all that money on aΒ 160 billion pixel 3D cloud artwork, when they could have a had a picture of one of my kitchen chairs for a fraction of the price, will always be a puzzle!
