Kane is a laid-back, easy-going guy who rarely gets mad with his peers. What is there to be mad about if we’re gonna make up and be friendly to each other later? Even during a crisis, he’ll try his utmost best to present himself as level-minded (even though he’s freaking out in the inside).
He is hardworking and ambitious, but never competitive.
Kane is a friendly guy who REALLY loves to learn. Usually always seen striving to finish his homework and tasks to the best of his abilities. Sometimes even reviewing ahead of the lesson plans. While all this happens, he usually oblivious to his surroundings and peers to focus solely on the task. Because of how little he socializes with people while studying, he is sometimes seen as a quiet guy amongst his peers, which is true to some extent as he isn’t usually the one starting the conversation.
While it's good that he’s very invested in his studies, it may also present himself as secretive to his peers. Honestly, no one knows what he is really working on. He is usually finished with assigned stuff, so there shouldn’t be much to do but have fun. The problem is: he is having fun! But or all we know he might be plotting to destroy the school.
Even when talking to his peers the secretiveness also shows. It may seem like he doesn’t want to share much about himself, but he just curious and prefers to learn more about you!
He is always happy to help his peers. Whether it is to help with homework or small/big favors, he’d take everything as something new to experience and an opportunity to learn something. Well. Almost everything. But even if he refuses, it doesn’t take very much to convince him to do things. He is very gullible and admits he is a huge pushover.
Kane has book smarts but not street smarts which make him slow. Very slow. It takes a while for him to process things as simple as an abbreviation (lol) and he takes things literally. Sarcasm isn’t a thing with him around.

Background:
His parents where a couple of well-known scientists, who had just settled in the peaceful, somewhat quiet island of Sado for their studies. It wasn’t long after settling that they birthed their firstborn, Kane. Following this was an attempt for a girl, for the best of both worlds. And from this Kane was granted two new siblings. Twins a girl and a boy.
His parents were strict and as the eldest son, it seemed even more so with him. The success and reputation of the family relied most on him. As a result, he was bossed around more by his parents about: Being a good role model to his siblings, making sure he gets good grades so that he could get a good job later on.. but mostly the good grades part. Basically his parents wanted to train him early to be a: doctor, lawyer, engineer orrr something science that sounds good. No pressure.
Although his parents were strict, Kane lived his life with very few disputes. He enjoyed the praise from them. He didn’t really have much to do so he might as well follow by his parents’ rules. And it paid off. He had excellent grades in school (please ignore PE and music class his parents can’t bear to see his grade for those classes).
He was gifted tutors, books and learning materials early on with science parents at a young age, it was only natural he enjoyed studying and keeping himself occupied with knowledge. But as the years added up, the more books and materials Kane requested his parents to buy for his studying pleasures did as well. And for that, his parents simply stopped spoiling him.
Because he didn’t have many friends growing up, the time spent without anything to read or study went towards tagging along with his parents as they worked. At first, they enjoyed his company. It’s always a pleasure for a scientist to share/show their findings and work, but that died the more Kane came to visit them. Being in their workspace sparked way too much joy in Kane and because of this, his parents found him to be too much of a distraction. Before they worked quietly, so it was different having an excited teen around. He was just ‘asking too many questions’, or standing in the way of things.
Their solution to ‘rid of him’ was to send him to a boarding school. There were few schools available on Sado, and although most of them were decent, they don’t compare to the schools on the mainland. They settled Kairyou high, located in a coastal town similar to Sado city. Kane was obviously thrilled, but was kept hidden of the real reason he was enrolled — His parents wanted to do their work and have the money left to do it (instead of spending it on Kane’s stuff).
As he arrived, it was much normal than he thought it would be. Or is it? He doesn’t mind that though.
Miscellaneous:

- Is the kind of kid who would die-I mean pant if he jogged 5 min to get to the next class (he is super unfit)

- Super tone-deaf and has no musical ability what so ever. He can’t sing or play any instruments for his life. (failed recorder playing in elementary and is ashamed)
- Has trouble sleeping unless hugging something
- Terrified of dogs - An excited dog jumped on him and made him fall over as a kid. *very* scary.
- Recently introduced to video games and is addicted. He is terrible at all of them and gets noticeably stressed when playing Tetris.
- Sometimes he puts in earbuds when studying. Ones that have no music playing in them.
- his parents were super strict with screen time and used to only give him an hour a day. His mind was blown when he was told he had unlimited screen time after moving out
