Continuing on from the last page, the outpost's inhabitants are left in shock as to the state of this messenger- with many questions. Hawke approaches the trooper trying to ascertain what the hell happened to the grunt. And the rest is as you can interpret it as- I'm not the best at drawing gore so I will improve, but just imagine being this trooper. Having to escape his doomed company, with the air in his lungs carrying a message worth so many lives. The environment was also clearly unforgiving, the natives are not only using blaster weaponry, but also heavy-hitting kinetic ammunition (physical bullets, etc) that their plastoid can only withstand so much of. Finally having evaded his pursuers he makes it to the outpost, riding on the edge of death, close to sealing his eyes shut until he realizes who stopped him- and then his knowledge of the chain of command along with customs and courtesy send a jolt through his body that it wasn't prepared for- resulting in what you see.
