I think we're all dreaming pretty intensly of spring by now.
It's wonderful how you've managed to capture the fluffiness and fragility of the dandilion. Great colours and movement.

thank you Aljosa!
well... watercolours are always challenging and I am a bit nervous every time I am practising with them because you mainly have one chance with your brushstrokes unlike with opaque paint like gouache or oils...

I know the feeling. I've realized I'm more of an opaque media artist, I find working with pure watercolor too chaotic, but mixing it with white gouache is another beast altogether.

thank you Henrik,
I realize more and more how important it is to use the watercolour pigments as fresh as possible to get this vibrant mood.

This is all sorts of lovely. Beautiful soft background, delightful sense of movement. How did you reserve the whites?

oh thank you so much Annette... well I had indeed great fun painting that quickstudy.
You asked how I reserved the whites... well the most of it was masking fluid kind of drybrushed... but some few whites are gouache

That's what I love about watercolours, the way it acts on its own, but you still have a degree of control over it.  But it still does things you would never have thought of, and that provides for a lot of "pleasant surprises"
