Eye-catching it is this photograph. I like the way that it first appears as a pear, but then you start better looking to see if it it's truly so. And it is. I would like to have it in higher resolution as you want to look close at the details.
Also nice to see it in B&W, makes it more surreal. I'm wondering if I miss some shadows, the light is very soft now. Would like to see another version, but perhaps you've already done that.
I also wonder if the picture would improve if the background had some colour, giving a bit of contrast between the object and its background.
Still, a very nice picture.

It's a shot of a 2mm thin slice of a pear, layed on a glass and lighted from below, that's why the soft light and almost none shadows

This really looks like a photo lithograph/ possibly intaglio print, (props to you :] ) I love how it fades towards the top and how the image itself fools the eye. The texture within the shape is beautiful too.

People keep saying it looks like a vagina.... I'm a self-admitted perv, but the first and only thing I see when I see this photo is a pear. *shrugs* Its a very neat photo, almost looks like a stamp or a super thin slice of the fruit on backlit glass or something. Congrats on the DD

why didn't you just tell us in the artist comments what it is? i wouldn't have known it was a pear if i hadn't read it in the comments, other people are saying it. it looked sort of pear-shaped but it could have been anything really, i had no idea what it was because you didn't bother telling us.

sorry but what you just said has always been a pet peeve of mine. ^__^U because, i don't want to be the one to figure out and interpret the art, i want the artist to communicate a message to me and i don't like when that message is unclear. but i know some people think otherwise...

Using "-i-" means it's a personal opinion of yours, yes. Others will feel otherwise and I am one of those who like to use their imaginations to figure something out and not be spoon fed. I realize my comment may read as negative, but believe me when I say it is not meant that way.

Well I guess I'm the otherwise-thinker, because the way I communicate the message to you is the art itself. Take a look at the photo and consider: it's definitely a pear, no doubt. But, on the other hand, the title "intimate" makes you doubt: "and what if it's not a pear?"
And, secondly, I didn't bother telling you what is it, for I simply wanted you all to think about it! I wanted to come up with a little controversy and watch you all to think and debate and comment and argue and you did it, you all did it so well. Thank you
