I saw PotC2 yesterday and decided that I needed to draw a female counterpart to Jack Sparrow
For those who don't know, 'spadge' is Gloucester slang for a sparrow. See? It all makes sense

I may regret adding a preview of one of the concepts I'm working on within my film (the running away one) which I'll be uploading once fully coloured.
Just been alerted to the Glamfest site actually having uploaded work, even the non-nominated stuff, but I only got the first half of my film on there (since I had to submit it in two parts).
I've heard questionable things regarding GCADT and copyright over our characters and concepts.

Me too. It would appear that they are permitted to use our stuff on their showreels without asking us. And I dont mean the GCADT showreel, I mean each tutor's own showreel. How clear are they likely to make it that the only input they had was in a purely technical assistance capacity?

Is that it? I know that is bad, I figured even worse like owning some form of copyright over our ideas and maybe us owing them something if we ever made something of creations made during our time at GCADT.

Well, its definitely a thought. Kinda like when you work for Disney, you basically sign your soul away to them, whatever you do during your time there, even if its a personal project, it belongs to them. Thats what happened with Nightmare Before Christmas.
I doubt GCADT would be that grasping though...

It shouldn't be the same, surely one of us would have noticed if ownership of our ideas was part of the fine print, my concepts and designs are always precious to me and I don't feel I got as much technical or advisory help as I needed so I'll be majorly hacked off if anything of mine gets stolen or copied.
I'm going ahead with the storyline/series I developed in the first year and might have to do previews/trailers of everything else I've done and put it on Deviantart just so I have solid proof they were mine at the point of submittal.

It definitely wouldnt be a bad idea. You can never be too careful when copyrights are involved. People on both sides of any dispute will defend them viciously and its more than likely to be those who scream loudest who'll get listened to most. Unless theres conclusive proof
