Description
My version of Lewis Carrol's Jabberwock:"`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe. "
It perches in the tree tops, letting it's head droop rather than standing up straight. The long neck helps it reach through the branches to snatch people below it. It has a pouch in the neck to hold it's victims as it fills with acid to dissolve them. It has many poisoned claws and the fore-claw is separate from the wing so it can reach through small spaces to pin down it's prey, where the head can easily follow after. Hidden in it's tail feathers is a scorpion-like stinger, equipped with an enzyme similar to a rattlesnake's venom that breaks down it's prey's insides. The tongue is hollow so it can suck up the juices resulting from said enzyme. It can fly for short periods, but prefers to perch. Altogether, not a pleasant creature.
Might digitalize it later.
