Description
Keep them flying !A 1936 promotional poster of the nationwide "Peace Bond" campaign, which was to obtain the funding for Sky Marshal Elmer van Bulwarks ambitious "Atlantis" project. Atlantis Station was the prototype of a chain of Aetheroscopic Surveillance (AS=eldoradian term for RADAR) stations. The project was introduced to the public as an "MPRP" (Multi Purpose Research Platform) for geophysical research to emphasize the civilian and defensive character. After the gigantic financial dimensions became obvious, Atlantis was sold to the good citizens of Northern Eldorado as an all seeing eye in the sky making their peaceful coasts even safer by adding an extended new line to van Bulwarks famous home defence perimeter. Or as Philander Herring, arbiter elegantiarum of the "GLANCE MAGAZINE" commented:
"This country is going to be so safe, it hurts !"

I would hope it uses helium as opposed to hydrogen; a stationary target like that could prove horribly vulnerable to basic canvas and wood aircraft; they wouldn't even appear on an early radar set like that.
