Looks nice, good midstep transformation, nice simple background, good anatomy and expression, nice design on the belt. On its own its very good but, it doesn't have a lot to unpack compared to some other entries, the 'sci fi thing breaks for no reason' is pretty common throughout the contest although a transformation belt is neat. You mention a robot bug form so it would have been nice to have like a panel before this showing what he expected to turn into to make that drastic change clearer.
There is nothing specifically wrong with the piece as is but for the contest it needed some more 'flash' to stand out.

So you have a cute nice style with a good pose, texturing and color. The issue mainly is the idea being very generic and vague. There's no real interesting twist to the malfunction, no cause given to it, no unique device itself. I mean it's a shame because I feel your style could do very well with something more thought out, but as is there isn't much else to talk about. You have a nice art style. Thanks for entering.

I love the clean, strong pose! Your art style is both cute and expressive. I just wish we got more of the story behind the TF. What was the belt meant to do? Why did it break?
Personally, I might have flipped this horizontally, assuming it's aimed at western audiences, to read more naturally as a man turning into a catgirl, instead of a catgirl turning into a man. That said, he is shocked by the cat hand, not the man hand, so it works fine as-is.
Overall, though, this is simple, effective and adorable. Good job and keep up the great work!

This is pretty cool. I really enjoy half and half tfs like this! Cute design for the catgirl side, definitely. and little details like the different eye color and ears make this really cute.
