Description
I went to Shanghai last week and took a picture of the view from the highest allowable point (for tourists at least) of the Oriental Pearl Tower. You gotta love the giant bottle opener at the back.

Yeah you should! It just sucks that we had to wait in line for an hour (I think) just to get to the elevator) to go up.

Hell, when i was there a few years ago, the bottle opener wasnΒ΄t there at all... but back then Shanghai had only one metro line.
They are growing SOOO fast!

Yeah probably too fast though, it feels like the people in Shanghai haven't caught up with all the developments though.

thatΒ΄s not surprising, and i guess itΒ΄s pretty much the same in many parts of china... and itΒ΄s not always for the best of all the people, of course. It seems, in Pudong they had a lot of trouble about erasing the traditional settlements there to build up the skyscrapers. And i hear pretty much the same in Guangzhou...

Yeah, I personally feel that they should retain and maintain the traditional chinese structures though... no offense to the architects but I like their older architecture more compared to the newer ones.

The cousin of my wife is studying architecture in Shanghai. Sometimes i am a but scared when i hear what she tells... but i guess, China will slow down after a while...
LetΒ΄s hope there is enough of the traditional structures left then!
