You know, I don't remember. I do a lot of commissioned stories & art for this patron. My mind is going. It's TF genre; these are all men turned into horses or donkeys.

Could you name the collection this story is published in? Please. Knowing that it's out there has piqued my interest.

"Transformations" - here: www.lulu.com/shop/donna-barr/t…

Note the disclaimer for proofing - and this book doesn't contain that particular story. I did a bunch of them on commission.

But if you like the TF genre, you might like this.

Oh my, the mule has really nice horse-conformation. Last time I got to see a pair of mules at my riding-instructor's place, they had all the unfortunate traits of both the donkey and the Tennessee Walker. <__< Poor things.

A neighbor has a pony with a Thoroughbred body, and little Welsh head, neck and legs, but with a high butt.'

She's pretty, but VERY WEIRD.

Ponies - crossbred ponies can be 'interesting'. A farm not too far away from here in OR is breeding warmblood ponies - they have a group of very nice Arabian mares and they cross them with their Connemara stallion. They're gorgeous and incredible jumpers.

Alas, my own nice mare passed away last June so I'm horse-less right now, but my good friend just got herself a 2 year old Anglo-Arab gelding who is RED chestnut and extremely promising. His sire is a sporthorse Arabian stallion certified for crossing on warmbloods. Lovely animal and wonderful temperament. The colt seems to have inherited that.

LOVELY. Sorry about the mare; I remember photos of her.

She lives on in my manga - and my current leetle avatar-pic. At least in the comic she can talk human-talk, although she did a pretty good job of communicating nonverbally in real life.

Last few years she had become a wonderful kid's first-jumper. She loved to jump, even with her uneven joints, and she did her best to ensure the kids didn't fall off. *Much* better than your typical evil pony.

Yes, sticking passed animals into creative works -- you've probably seen the cats in the Peach.

A friend's pony was cantering and felt me (watching the scenery, la la la) began to bounce out of the saddle -- and bounced me right back in. He was such a cool pony.

Oh, are those your kitties in Peach? Or former kitties? They're pretty.

A good pony is worth his weight in gold. Most ponies are very Thelwell in their attitude.

DonnaBarr In reply to Murasaki99 [2007-11-01 16:27:36 +0000 UTC]

They're always former kitties.

I love ponies. I'd like to have a part Morgan (a local lady has a part Morgan horse I adore. He looks like a Mongolian wild horse).

Nice to immortalize our furry friends - I'm sure Key would be super-smug at having a co-starring role in my manga.

And hmm, if you love Morgans, should I mention the people crossing Morgans with Friesians? Dunno if they are still in business or not... well, they seem to have a registry now: [link] Pretty pictures on the site. There are breeders in Snohomish.

Did you check the link? The pics they have on the breed website look really nice, especially the 2nd generation youngsters. Looks like the two breeds nick well, since the Morgan is basically a rather smallish baroque horse.

DonnaBarr In reply to avancna [2007-10-25 01:01:03 +0000 UTC]

Depends on what's wanted, how many characters, what research or backgrounds needed, whether black and white or color.

A nice sketch like that one, with full detail, is $75.00, or in around there.

Well, out of curiosity, how much for a short story concerning werebeasts?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DonnaBarr In reply to avancna [2007-10-28 18:26:37 +0000 UTC]

A shortie?

Without illustrations, $25.00 a page. $75.00 for each additional illo. You can set your own limit!

(By the way, color and black and white drawings go for the same amount -- because cross=hatching is just as time-consuming as coloring).
