Yes, they are quite beautiful, they eat any kind of seed or suet. I've been fortunate enough to have quite a few around lately.

what do they like best. I have hard time keeping other birds stealing the sunflower seeds I leave for the blue jays or cardinals.

Yes, it is quite hard to keep other birds from doing eating seeds meant for other birds. Maybe you should just go with sunflower seeds only?...lol.
